Rural Property Addressing15 July 2011
The State Government through the Department for Transport, Energy and
Infrastructure, requested the District Council of Grant to undertake the delivery of
'Rural Property Addressing'. Rural Property Addressing has been introduced
across the Council area for the benefit of the broader community. This initiative
has the support of the Country Fire Service, State Emergency Service, SA
Police, SA Ambulance Service, community groups and essential service
providers. By the end of 2011, every occupied rural property in South Australia
will have a nationally recognised address, based on a simple location system.
Not only will this improve the delivery of regular services, it will assist in the
protection of families in the event of an emergency.

Council Adopts $20 Million Budget13 July 2011
The District Council of Grant adopted a $20 M budget at its Council meeting on Monday night. With a strong focus on maintaining and upgrading essential infrastructure in the district, the Budget provides for a total increase of 5.6% in General Rate Revenue with most households receiving an average of 4-5% increase.
