About Us

The DCGYAC is a committee of young people between the ages of 12 and 25 who are constantly working to improve the quality of life for young people in the District Council of Grant.

why

Because we can! The DCGYAC is committed to identifying and addressing the needs of our district youth.

how

Our Council is committed to listening to, and working with the youth in our community to make our area a place where young people want to live, study and work.

when

The YAC meets once a month, usually the third Wednesday of the month between 5.00pm and 6.00pm.

where

We generally meet at DC Grant offices but we do move our meeting place around the District to cater for the more isolated members.

what

Council has employed a Youth Development Officer, Judy Goodman, to work with local youths, schools and youth agencies to develop youth initiatives and raise the profile of youth issues in our district. For any enquiries regarding Youth Advisory Committee meetings, youth issues, or current YAC projects please email Judy at judy.goodman@dcgrant.sa.gov.au.

Judy and the Youth Advisory Committee are supported in their work by Councillor Jeanenne Morgan.
