10 Year Road Plan

Council has adopted a 10 Year Road Plan to assist in the prioritization of its road resealing and construction program.  This plan is revised each financial year.  During the process of developing the plan the following issues are considered.

Priorities for resealing roads within Council's sealed road network are reassessed each year.  Roads are reviewed and the plan updated as some roads will change in priority quicker than expected, while others may be able to be deferred.

Council has also established a priority system for the unsealed road network.  This is determined by such factors as heavy vehicle access routes, industry usage, safety, traffic flows and Grants funding availability.

Council needs to ensure adequate maintenance is undertaken to our road network each year.  As the number of sealed network kilometres increases, so does the maintenance cost of our network.

Council has made a commitment to undertaking drainage programs in the Townships of Tarpeena, Donovans and Allendale East. This program has been included in the Road Plan.
