Wandering Stock

Council has a by-law forbidding animals to stray onto streets and roads.  An offence will attract a $180.00 expiation fee against the owners of the straying animals.  Stock found straying onto property or an adjacent road may be impounded by the owner of the land. If the owner of the stock cannot be contacted please contact the Council who will advise the Poundkeeper or Council Authorised Officer.

Council has one public pound for straying stock; at the Mount Gambier Saleyards. Poundkeeper is Michael Atwell (8725 6155).  Council's Authorised Officer is Rob Baker (0417 820 678).
