Skilled Migrants Friendship Advisory Committee

 The District Council of Grant Skilled Migrants Friendship Advisory committee was established by Council at their meeting held on 18th October 2010.  The Committee will comprise of one nominated representative from each of the following organisations (unless otherwise noted between brackets):

  • Skilled Migrants Representatives (up to 2)
  • Volunteer Representatives (3)
  • Your Professional Network
  • Up to four people or representatives of an organisation with an interest in the support of Skilled Migrants.

One representative from the District Council of Grant and the Mayor of the Council shall be an "ex-officio" member of the Committee.  They will meet at least four times a year to discharge Advisory obligations under the Local Government Act 1999.

The primary objective of the Advisory Committee is to address settlement needs in practical ways with respect and empathy, provide a social and support network by engaging people throughout the community, promote cultural diversity by influencing and educating individuals.
