Tourism and Hospitality Grants Awarded

23rd November 2020
$40,000 in grant funding is being awarded to eleven District Council of Grant Businesses as part Council’s inaugural Tourism and Hospitality Small Business Grant.

In a year of unprecedented and unexpected impact on local economies and communities, this grant initiative was targeted to the tourism, hospitality and accommodation providers and established under the broad DCG Care Package supporting the community during the pandemic.

The District Council of Grant recognises how important it is that local businesses in the tourism sector are able to diversify and enhance their visitor offerings as well as capture new audiences through online engagement. Council looks forward to welcoming back domestic and international travellers as soon as possible to enjoy the unique offerings of the Limestone Coast.

The funding for the grant was based on ‘dollar for dollar’ contribution with grant monies making up to 50% of the project costs. This has resulted in a $94,000 stimulus being put back into the local economy.
