New gallery exhibition open at the Port MacDonnell Community Complex

A new gallery exhibition has opened at the Port MacDonnell Community Complex. “Coastal Collaboration” features multiple artists from the local area, all of which explore different mediums bringing a wide range of art to our local community.

Some featured artists include:

  • International award winning photographer, Alex Window, showcasing his passion for the South Australian Coastline.
  • Photographic all-rounder Tim Rosenthal, displaying night sky, landscaped and environmental portraits
  • Well acknowledged artist, Tony Flint, documenting Australian landscapes, history and issues through his acrylic paintings.
  • Self-taught ‘pine needle’ basket maker and ‘gourd’ carver, Jenny Dean, exhibiting her love of creating something useful by hand.
  • Ulla MacRae, bringing nature to life with palm art made from dropped leaves off of an old family palm tree.
  • Surf culture and ocean inspired, Jeremy Ievins, displaying his surfboard paintings which he has been creating for over 20 years.
  • Fashion designer, Vivienne Jaffer, showcasing her stylish products made from natural products through artisan techniques, upcycling and cork fabric.
  • Local artist of 35 years, Heather McLean, exhibiting water colour, pen and wash, pastel and acrylic paintings and shell mirrors.
  • Wearable art designer, Trudi Timmermann, bringing her own art work and designs to life through printed textiles.
  • Quilting and craft loving, Sue-Ellen Downie, displaying “A Little Bit of Quirkiness” through her quilting, felting and material textiles.
  • Creator of Explore Nelson Victoria Facebook Page, Sue Carrison, displaying her passion for nature and agriculture photography.
  • Young Local Kai Ievins, showcasing his passion and eye for capturing stunning images of the coast and unique landscapes.

Entry to the “Coastal Collaboration” exhibition is free with access via the Community Complex main entrance.

The gallery is open to the public 7 days a week during normal Community Complex opening hours; Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm, Fridays 9am-8pm and weekends 10am-4pm.
