Cashless Voucher System
Waste Transfer Station's (WTS) no longer accept cash payments for use of the sites, instead the sites operate through a cashless voucher system. An example of the voucher is shown below.
Each property within the District Council of Grant is eligible for one free cashless voucher at the beginning of each financial year. The voucher entitles the resident / tenant to six visits and is individually numbered linking to the property.
Residents / tenants may collect or request a voucher be mailed by:
- Phone: Principal Office on (08) 8721 0444
- Email: info@dcgrant.sa.gov.au
- In person:
- Principal Office: 324 Commercial Street West, Mount Gambier
- Port MacDonnell Community Complex: 5-7 Charles Street, Port MacDonnell
Additional vouchers can also be purchased from Council's Principal Office at 324 Commercial Street West, Mount Gambier. The below additional vouchers are available:
- Single visit pass - $50.00
- Six visit pass - $200.00
How will the cashless system work?
Step 1
Resident presents voucher to the attendant.
Step 2
The load of waste will be assessed and the resident’s voucher hole punched, if applicable. Disposal of some materials will be free (refer table below).
Step 3
Attendant directs resident to the appropriate location. The resident complies with the safety requirements of the site and unloads the waste materials.
The voucher will remain active even when all passes have been used (hole-punched), as an identification card for load types that are deemed to be free. Below details more items and materials that are deemed to be free.
