Waste & Recycling

South Australia's Waste Strategy aims to ensure a healthy environment for South Australians now and into the future.  State and Local Government agencies, the waste management industry, business and the community have been involved in helping Green Industries SA to develop the waste strategy and guide the way in which waste is managed in South Australia.

The strategy establishes waste reduction goals and targets for South Australia and sets out a range of strategies and steps to achieve these goals and targets. For further information go to Green Industries SA.

Whilst recycling reduces the amount of material going to landfill and facilitates re-use of materials which saves energy and valuable resources, Council encourages thinking ahead to minimise waste reduction by purchasing goods which have little material that requires disposal or recycling.

Other recycling options, information and locations near you can be found at www.recyclingnearyou.com.au or www.kesab.asn.au. Alternatively, for recycling do's and don'ts please refer to MGB Calendar or the Waste Transfer Station (dump) Information.
